Welcome to the Duke Club Baseball website
The Duke Club Baseball program was started in 2001. Six years later, the program is still going strong. We recently joined the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA), a very tough league. Duke plays in the Carolinas East Conference, which includes UNC, NC State, ECU, Elon, and Craven Community College. In the fall, the team plays about 8 nonconference games, with usually one away series. Games are played in weekend series format, with two 7-inning games on Saturday, and one 9-inning game on Sunday. Practices are usually 2 nights a week. The baseball club is open to any undergraduate or graduate student at Duke who loves the game of baseball.
2006 Recap
2006, Duke's first year in the NCBA, provided great experience for a young team which returns all but three of the 18 members of last year?s team. Senior first basemen Weston Ijames and senior right fielder Mark Redmond, along with graduate student pitcher Marc Adler will be sorely missed, but there are plenty of players ready to step in and take on a leadership role. The team looks to add many new freshman to build a young nucleus of talent that can propel us into the thick of things in the Carolinas East conference.
